What is it with the ill-fitting pastel dresses tonight?! Long sleeves do not have to be frumpy!
My theory on this dress is she’s wearing some vintage wedding gown as a way of confirming her engagement to JT without actually confirming it. Also: it’s a horrible dress. But she tends to wear horrible dresses to these events.
